Abstract NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE-SOURCE:  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), William J. Hughes Technical Center, intends to award a single-source contact to Oshkosh Airport Products Corp., the manufacturer of the Snozzle 65-ft HRET. Manufacturer is to bring the current prototype (Model 652) installed on the FAA's ARFF research vehicle to performance standards (Model 651).  This procurement is considered to be single-source based on Oshkosh Airport Products being the sole company manufacturing and supporting this technology.  Based on the research results of a multi-year research effort, Oshkosh has completely re-engineered the Snozzle 652 and markets a Model 651 which meets all the new performance requirements.
Purpose of Announcement:  In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures.

All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed in writing to the Contracting Officer, Elizabeth Ford Ochs, at e-mail address elizabeth.ford@faa.gov or mailing address FAA, WJHTC, Acquisition & Grants Division (AAQ-620), Atlantic City International Airport, NJ  08405. If no questions are received by Close of Business on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 then an anticipated award will be issued on or around Monday, September 17, 2012.
